Hiya I'm Mya a Photographer and Artist . In my work I use a range of digital mediums and Analog processes to create surrealist and abstract visual narratives. I have fascination with the surrealist aesthetic which stems from my desire that my own work conveys the same reaction in an audience to a ‘cabinet of curiousness’ that sense of macabre and bazar curiosity that promotes self-reflection. I take inspiration from a range of different mediums including Music, Art, Literature and Digital Media. However my work often being biographical in some element as I explore subjects such as gender identity, inner conflict and mental health. I achieve these themes by obscure my own emotions and thoughts through a mix of both practical and digital distortion techniques and manipulation programs. My work displaying these feeling with the aim to communicate to people who can relate their own experiences to the narratives depicted or to make people question their perception of both the world around them and themselves.
