A project based on the juxtaposition between The Brighton and West Pier.
I find the tone of the Pier in Brighton and fun and strange thing. It’s full of colour and bright lights yet takes inspiration form it’s burned down counterpart that’s only a short walk away, old fashioned circus posters and decorations paired with rollercoasters and arcade machines. These juxtaposing overlapping histories was something I definitely wanted to explore a try a express in my photography. And used a method of overlapping negatives as an outlet to express that, creating a burned book (the base being ‘this book doesn’t want to be read’ by David Sundin I made modifications )
